This morning, we took a short boat ride to an island close by, in the hopes of checking it out for our team outing. It turned out to be great, but not an option for our April Team, because the American TV show, SURVIVOR actually films there every year from March through July! If any of you watch the show, the island we went to (Bekana Island), is used as the Ponderosa, the place where the losers go to after they are voted out of the game! The show and CBS restrict anyone from coming onto the island while they are there, as they want it to be secure and confidential. We enjoyed ourselves very much, swimming in the calm waters and having lunch there, too.
We thought about it later, that Don possibly had a "Divine Connection", with a woman in the pool. She asked if we were there on holiday (vacation). Then he had the opportunity to share with her about the organization we are working with, called Marine Reach. She seemed interested, because she works for the Ministry of Health here in Fiji. So they ended up exchanging cards, and Don will try to connect her with the base directors, Daeseong and Rowena. Both organizations have a heart to help the Fijian people. Sometimes we think we are going somewhere for one reason, and the Lord has other things in mind!
Tomorrow is The Lord's Day, so we are going to church with a team that is here doing their DTS Outreach, from Auckland, NZ. One of the couples is American from Florida and they attend a Calvary Chapel in Melbourne, Florida!
