Today, the husband and wife directors of Marine Reach came over to where we are staying, to discuss our team budget and to teach us many things about the Fijian way of life! There are so many different customs that are very important to them, and that we need to be aware of. There is a definite protocol that must be adhered to, when we go into the village. This Thursday, we will be going to the same village that we will minister in, when we come in April. We will try to take lots of pictures. We will not be able to meet the chief, but we will meet the Chief's messenger. One thing we learned today is that the "Head" of a Fijian person is NOT to be touched. It is just simply not done, but not exactly sure why!
Tomorrow, we will be attending the Intercession time with the base here. It is held at another location at 8:30 am. We met a couple who are from Florida and attend a Calvary Chapel in Melbourne, Florida! We also met a couple who have family in Temecula! Thursday is the village visit, and we are excited to go there!
People smile as they pass you with a greeting of "BULA"!
